Society
will
hold
its
annual
Conference
at
The
Monterey
Maritime
and
History
Museum,
Monterey,
California,
on
Saturday,
April
19,
2008.
It
will
be
held
in
conjunction
with
the
ADCI
Western
Chapter
Conference.
Those
of
you
who
attended
the
2006
HDS
Seattle
Conference/
Western
Chapter
meeting
will
recall
how
successful
that
event
was
for
both
organizations.
The
HDS
weekend
program
begins
with
a
joint
ADCI/HDS
"Meet
and
Greet"
on
Friday
evening,
is
followed
by
a
full
Saturday
conference,
the
HDS
Annual
Awards
Banquet
on
Saturday
evening,
and
a
local
diving
history
program
on
Sunday
morning.

whose

book,
The
History
of
Oilfield
Diving,

garnering
accolades
from

Lundy
who
wrote

California

There
will

antique
commercial
diving
equipment
plus
some
examples
of
the
first
helium
demand
helmets
developed
in
Santa
Barbara
in
the
1960s.
A
short
presentation
by
Fred
Johnson
on
the
recently
re-launched
Chino
State
prison
program
is
included
in
the
Conference
presentations,
plus
other
non
published
presentations.
The
Saturday
evening
Awards
Banquet
will
honor
Bev
Morgan
who
will
receive
the
HDS
Hans
Hass
Diving
To
Adventure
Award.
Among

by

Conference
